Help maintain the infrastructure that exposes the truth about DERO's privacy claims
A Year-Long Journey to Uncover the Truth
For the past year, we have poured our hearts and countless hours into exposing the fundamental flaws in the DERO project's privacy implementation. What started as curiosity evolved into a relentless mission that has consumed months of our personal time, significant computational resources, and ongoing financial investment - all driven by our commitment to revealing the truth.
What We've Accomplished:
- Built Upon Groundbreaking Research: We took kayabaNerve's research and proof of concept (huge thanks to him) and developed it into a comprehensive deanonymization tool.
- Deanonymized 3+ Million Payloads: Through months of dedicated CPU power using our deanonymization tool, we managed to break through DERO's privacy claims and deanonymize basically 100% of all transactions on the network - over 3 million payloads in total. Thanks also goes to a few of you who helped us finish the remaining hard-to-process transactions, without which we wouldn't have been able to complete it all.
- Extensive Documentation: We wrote over 570+ posts on @derolytics on X, documenting every discovery and explaining the technical issues in detail.
- Comprehensive Analysis Reports: We presented detailed reports on critical events, including analysis of the Atlantis to Stargate swap and the project owner's (Captain's) holdings, followed by our investigation into what happened to coins after the Kucoin delisting.
- Exposed Systematic Issues: From transition problems to ongoing deceptions by both the community and the official DERO Foundation, we've provided detailed analysis of DERO's fundamental problems at every level. Despite promises from the Captain to address these critical privacy failures, he ultimately abandoned the project without implementing any fixes and is not expected to return.
- Released the Derolytics Explorer: As the final step in our journey, we've just launched the comprehensive public explorer that allows anyone to verify the broken privacy for themselves and check their own transactions' vulnerability.
Project Infrastructure & Resources
This research required substantial infrastructure investment including domain registration, hosting services, and computational resources for the deanonymization process. All operational costs have been funded from our own pockets, without any external support. The work was driven purely by our determination to expose the truth about privacy claims in this cryptocurrency.
The response from both the DERO community and the official DERO Foundation has often been dismissive or hostile, with the Foundation making false claims about their privacy implementation. Despite months of inactivity and broken promises from the project leadership to address these critical issues, the Captain ultimately abandoned the project without implementing any fixes. With the launch of the complete Derolytics Explorer, we now provide irrefutable proof of the privacy failures we've been highlighting.
Ongoing Operational Costs
Keeping Derolytics operational requires ongoing server maintenance, hosting fees, and domain renewals. Your donations help ensure this critical resource remains available to the cryptocurrency community.
